Vintage Blue Desk-A Final Look

Before and After Napoleonic Blue Desk

In yesterdays post I showed you how I removed the laminate top of this desk and gave it a new look with blue chalk style paint.  Today we get to take a final look at it and see how it all came out.

After the stain and paint were all dry I distressed the edges slightly to give it a little more interest.

As with most of my other pieces I used clear wax to seal this desk.  It’s going in a child’s room so I wanted it to be durable and stand up to abuse.

I’m really pleased with how the stained top plays off the blue and brings it all together.

Lovely color for desk, it looks like a very sturdy desk to be enjoyed by a child. You always do a very good job re-inventing your creations. Hope the child will treasure that desk.
Excuse me for going off the subject at hand – what are Thermofoil cabinets? Have no idea. Keep seeing bout that post and wondering. Sure wish I had that gorgeous counter top.
