Just Junkin’

Pickin

Hi friends!  I hope your weekend was fabulous!  Mine was just great!   The weather was so much cooler and I got to spend some time outside finishing some projects I’ve been wanting to work on over the last few hot weeks.

Today I wanted to share a junkin trip I went on with my friend Kathy from over at Petticoat Junktion.  These photos are from some stores Kathy and I visited in Chattanooga on our way back from Atlanta after we spent the weekend at Haven.  We didn’t have much time so it was a bit of a whirlwind but oh so fun!

Petticoat Junktion and Farm Fresh Vintage Finds go Pickin

Bottle Tree

Colorful Bike

This bottle tree and bike welcome you as you head into The Greenbriar Antique Merchants.  Aren’t they so fun and colorful!

Inside you’ll find all kinds of great things…..

French Provencial Hutch

This French Provincial hutch blew my mind!  I’ve never seen one this big.  It.  Was.  Breathtaking!  And so much bigger than this photo portrays.

Croquet Set

This croquet set reminded my of going to my grandparents house when I was a little girl.  I’m kinda regretting that I didn’t buy it.  Maybe I’ll come across another one soon.

Bubbled Glass Hutch

Here’s another hutch that caught my eye.

Bubbled Glass

The bubbled glass on it was magnificent.  It’s not necessarily my style but I completely appreciated the craftsmanship of it.

Corner Desk

And this corner desk/vanity….have you ever seen such?

Vintage Child's Kitchen

This little vintage kitchen in the most wonderful green (the same green of my parents kitchen appliances growing up).  Don’t you just LURVE it!

Colorful Vntage Chairs

Wouldn’t these colorful chairs be great in a kitchen breakfast nook?!  So fun and cheery.

Wooden Cabinet

This cabinet was spectacular!!!!

Hanging Canoe

Across the parking lot is another fantastic store.  This GIANT rooster and canoe welcome you in.

In fact Kathy loved Mr. Rooster so much…

Kathy and her Chicken

she had to give him a big hug!

Vintage Feeder

This store was just my style.

Vintage Fixture

Handmade Light Fixture

It had lots of repurposed treasures.

Future Island

This cart wanted to come home with me and be repurposed into a kitchen island but it wouldn’t fit into my car.  Very sad face.

Wine Rescue

I also spotted this fun tea towel.  I’m totally putting this on a sign for my studio.  Too funny!

Union Jack Chairs

I also fell in LURVE with these fun chairs.  Someone took lots of time getting them just right and did a fabulous job at it!

We had such a great time checking everything out.  There were so many great things in all of the stores.  If you’re ever in Chattanooga TN you should stop by and check these store out!

I’m curious….do you like to go junkin with friends?

    1. Chris that’s so funny about the bow….oh if only you could see my wedding shots. I had a full candelabra bow in them. Good times!

Actually there’s only one friend I have that loves to go junking as much as I do. When I was in Tucson in 2008 for our 50th. high school reunion we went all over Tucson junking, antiquing. She loves to go to thrift stores, yard sales. Probably good thing we don’t live close to each other. I live west of Grand Junction, CO now but sure do miss going with her.
Our highest hope was always to get to go to Round Top Texas for their shows and maybe some others on way. Like the sale on corridor 127. We lived in KY before here so I got to go couple times anyway. When we moved away ended up having to leave some things I’d bought at sale plus lots of old wood windows and doors. Very hard to find things like that here and if I do way too cost prohibitive for me. People tend to be quite greedy here.
Envious of you and Kathy getting to go to those great stores. Wish the climate had agreed with me in KY but it didn’t, lived there 5 yrs. (north of Bowling Green) then moved here. Still miss our wonderful house and 1 1/2 acres out in country and all the wonderful goodies I found there. So you girls enjoy it for me there ok? Happy week

    1. JaneEllen~we’ll keep junkin just for you. 🙂
