Modern Masters Metallic Paint Review

Modern Masters Nightstands

When Modern Masters contacted me about reviewing their products I was thrilled. Trying metallic paints has been on my bucket list for a long time.

There are several great colors to choose from.  I chose Platinum because I have always love mirrored furniture and I thought this would be a close look to that.  I also got a small container of Snowflake.

I’ve had some nightstands sitting around for awhile that I knew would be perfect for this project.

The paint is pretty thick, which I love and went on really smooth. I applied three coats and was pleased with the coverage.  The drying time was great too.  I like paints that dry quickly so I can put several coats on in a day and then come back and do finishing touches the next day.

I painted two nightstands and still have plenty left over for another project.

Overall I’m super pleased with Modern Masters Paint and I can’t wait to try it again.  The only thing I didn’t care for is that it comes in a plastic jar with a screw on lid. I’ve had problems with this type of container in the past and while initially it’s convenient you have to make sure and get all the paint off the rim before putting the lid back on or you may find that it’s nearly impossible to unscrew the next time.  So keep that in mind when using paints with screw on lids.

These two nightstands are for sale $195 for the pair.

  1. This is gorgeous Beth! I love the fresh clean feeling, beautiful job!

  2. I do love the metallic finish on this piece but I do agree with the container. I’ve had glaze products that have been basically glued shut because of the paint in the cap.

  3. I have to agree with you about screw-on lids for paint. They get me every time! It looks nice! I could see this being cool to use with kids and making decorative robots! 🙂 Or taking an old mirror and making the frame metallic. Thanks!

  8. Love the metallic finish. I’ll bet this is even more pretty in person. (Metallics are so hard to photograph.) I’ll bet that these sell quickly!
