Going Green
What’s the first word that comes to mind when you see this little guy?
Beautiful, right? I know that has to be the first thing you thought when you saw it. No? Really? Well when I saw it sitting there in the thrift store I instantly thought beautiful. Ok I’m joking what I actually thought was man someone really wrecked that…I wonder if I can fix it? So I paid for it and threw it in my SUV.
I’d been wanting to try Annie Sloan Antibes Green for awhile and this seemed like the perfect piece for it. I wanted to use this bright green on something unexpected that would be good in any room.
I clamped everything back together and did a good sanding on it to get off all the old “bumpy” varnish. And then painted the whole piece with Antibes and waxed it with clear and dark soft wax. I LURVE this color!!!! I could literally paint half the furniture in my house with it but unfortunately it’s the one color hubby just isn’t diggin’.
Oh well you can’t win them all right? I think it turned out fabulous and so did a local decorator because she scooped it up as soon as I listed it for sale.
Do you have any green furniture in your house? It’s a great way to add a happy pop of color to any room. My sweet friend Kathy over at Petticoat Junktion painted this beautiful dresser green with black underneath. Doesn’t it just make you smile! Hop over to her blog and see how fabulous it turned out and then comment and let her know I sent ya. What room in your house has green furniture?
