Mustard Seed Yellow Washstand
I’m not trying to brag but I want to let you guys know that I’m pretty sure that Miss Mustard Seed and I are sisters. Well at least cousins. I mean everything that she makes is exactly what I dream up in my head so I’m sure she’s making it just for me because she reads my mind. Right?
I picked up this washstand while I was out pickin with my mother-in-love. She and I always have a great time pickin and I think she’s my good luck charm because I always come home with some fantastic finds when she comes along.
Although I was totally in love with it, I felt like it lacked the pizzaz it needed to really stand out in a crowd.
Enter my sister Miss Mustard Seed. This Mustard Seed Yellow milk paint is perfect. And the new porcelain knobs, well who doesn’t love them.
Milk paint always adds just enough chipping to make me happy. I literally stayed up late last night and watched this paint chip off. You know you’re desperate for something to do invested in a project when you’ll watch paint dry.
I finished it all out with Miss Mustard Seed’s Antiquing Wax. Have you tried it? You should. You will love it! It’s a two step process. Which means you put the wax on and then buff it out with a cloth. Eureka! For a refinishing junkie professional like me is a dream come true!
This washstand is SOLD. If you would like to see my other items for sale please click here to be taken to my for sale album.

I’m looking at that very washstand as I type this. How I love, love, love this piece. I am so blessed to have this piece of history and art. And every time I dust it, I think of the hands that have touched it and the artist who transformed it.
