Painted Table with Chevron Chairs
Sometimes little changes here and there in your home can make all the difference in the world. When my friend Heather called me asking if I could help her with a table she had recently purchased I was super excited. She had picked out some chevron fabric for the chairs and wanted the table painted a softer color. Umm chevron chairs….Yes please!
Tables and chairs are such a big part of our lives and updating them is a fantastic way to change your whole kitchen. I’ve painted lots of them in fact you can click here to see some of the others.
This table had a beautiful oak woodgrain on the top so we decided to leave it and just paint the base. I like doing this for several reasons, I think it still keeps the charm and the contrast is always wonderful.
I used three coats of chalk type paint in Antique White to transform the base and chairs. I was even able to achieve this amazing crackle effect. Love when that happens.
The chairs had great detail and the pop of color in the chevron print really updated them from the black pleather days they had once lived.
Chevron chairs=happiness
A little distressing here and there and this little guys was ready for some clear wax.
So tell me what do you think? You can comment below. It’s easy and I never share your info with anyone for any reason.
Do you have a table and chairs that could use some updating? If you’re local (Franklin TN and surrounding areas) it’s as easy as an email (farmfreshvintagefinds@gmail.com) to get an estimate from me.
Love your table and chairs! Wish I had the courage to do it to my table and chairs. Afraid it would turn out terrible.
Dianne-you’ll never know till you try. Go to a thrift store and buy something small to practice on. 🙂

Loved the look. Any special instructions for the crackle look?
