Painting Cabinets and Designing Interiors

Hey friends!  Did you have a good weekend?  I was busy painting and waxing kitchen cabinet doors and the weekend flew by too fast.  I’m super thrilled to be going and installing the doors back on today.  This kitchen is getting some great updates.  I can’t wait to share all the after photos with you!!!  I’ll do a post about it really soon.  In the meantime if you’re looking for info about painting your cabinets you can find it here or just email me through my Contact section if you’d like a quote.

Here’s a before photo of the kitchen until then.  As you can see it needs some work but what a great canvas to start with.  Insert my giant smile here.

In other news……I am so thrilled to share with all of you that I’ve been asked to design the interior of a new home for a client!!!!!  Can you believe it!?!?!?  It’s a DREAM come true and while I’m SUPER nervous I’m also COMPLETELY stoked at the same time.   My daughter and I have been working on the design over the last few days and while it’s no where near done this is what we have so far.

full house plan

As you can see the home will have dark hardwood floors throughout and tile in the bathrooms.  It will have a vaulted ceiling with gigantic beams that are TOO DIE FOR!!!!!  There will be porches on the back overlooking a creek and beautiful fireplaces.  It’s a truly incredible setting.

I hope you’ll plan to come along with me as I work on this project over the next several months.  There’s going to be lots of shopping trips in my future!!!!  Make sure and comment with your favorite places for vintage finds.  The best part of that is that it’s with someone else’s money!  Heck to the yeah!!!!!

Here’s the design I’ve come up with for the master bath.  I’m going for a cottage design with cool colors and as many repurposed things as possible.

It’s going to have an antique claw foot tub and all glass shower…..

And I’m also using my clients cherry dresser and converting it to a vanity.  I’m not keeping this mirror, just hang in there with me, I’m still learning how to use the software.

So that’s what’s going on around here.  Be sure and comment with your favorite places for shopping.  And if you have some design ideas throw them my way too.  This is going to be so much fun!

Until next time,

Beth

What a dream come true!!! I love the new show on HGTV called ‘Fixer Upper’. The woman has such a great design sense. You may get some ideas from the show. She mixes country and modern perfectly!! Have fun with your new project. Keep us posted.
