A Visit with Two Purple Couches

Hello Farm Fresh Vintage Finds fans! I’m Emily, I blog over at Two Purple Couches and I’m super excited to meet you all today!

Beth and I met over Instagram photos before last year’s Haven Conference, and when I finally bumped into her during a session, it was like bumping into an old friend! And I’m so glad that we’ll be able to bump into each other again soon since Haven is just a few days away!

So, a little about me… I am a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and an only child who married her high school sweetheart. I studied Creative Writing in college and love that I actually do make a living by writing! I am a copy director in the branding industry, and I blog in my spare time. Oh, and someday I hope to write a novel! Can you tell I like to write!?

And now, a little about my blog… my husband and I built and moved into our current home in December of 2011, and in May of 2012, I started blogging about our new adventures as homeowners. It was fun for us to select our own floor plan and finishes, but the real fun began after we moved in—picking out paint colors (like a bold orange for our dining room), learning how to install crown moulding (here are some great tips we learned), and putting our own personal stamp on our home together.

It’s definitely a work in progress, but I love imagining what each room might be and how we’ll bring it to life.

When I’m not learning my way around a nail gun or miter saw, I like to try my hand at smaller projects, crafts and interior styling. Here are a few of my favorites, including the only piece of furniture I’ve ever given a makeover to. I bet Beth could give me a ton of tips and ideas!
