Teen Girls Dream Bedroom Reveal

Shelbs room

When hubby decided it was time to create a dream bedroom for out teen daughter I was super excited.  Makeovers are my fave and I knew our daughters bedroom would be fabulous because he’s so creative.  He handles most of the building side of Farm Fresh and has so many creative ideas in his head it’s unreal!

First we built a frame for her new bed that houses two more closets and a trundle for sleepovers.

Because we live in a farmhouse we had to add all the little farmhouse details that make our house home.  If  I could I would put this wainscoting all over my entire house.  But for her room we just settled on one wall. We also built shelves to hold some vintage coke crates and other girly things.

We also hung a chandelier, painted in a fun turquoise color to add a little shimmer.

Here’s a shot of her art area.  She’s a great painter, photographer and cake baker.  I’ve blogged alot about her amazing cakes.  You can read all about that here.

We used an old window to create a cabinet door for all her treasures.

A vintage quilt with butterflies that I found at one of my favorite thrift stores pulls the room together with all its soft colors.  The house quilt, that’s on the foot of the bed, was made by her great-grandmother who just celebrated her 98th birthday.

I found these cool vintage looking pulls at Hobby Lobby.  I thought they were perfect for handles on her new closet doors.

And here’s her shabby chic vanity painted a soft white with turquoise stool.

And who doesn’t love a vintage coke button.  Coke memorabilia is one of her favorite things.

That’s it for now.  I hope you’ve enjoyed this tour and that I’ve inspired you to create fun relaxing spaces in your home for yourself and the ones you love.
